Prior to beginning the passion we shared as dog trainers, throughout both of our early careers the importance of physical activity has always been emphasized. Andrew, a Marine Corps Military Police K9 Handler, and Sam an Army Engineer, Endurance coach, and Ultramarathoner, recognized and trialed what has now become K9 Cross Country's philosophy. We both learned very quickly, that when we feel good, we perform even better. Mentally, physically, emotionally. Whether that had been Andrew and his very first Military Working Dog, Jack on deployments. Or, Sam and her Chihuahua, Moose running the Appalachian Trail, our training and responsiveness in our companions was amplified through foundations of physical activity. Much like humans, dogs require a level of mental and physical stimulation to make the best decisions in everyday life. So, we grounded our training principles in a simple and manageable framework revolving around mentally and physically engaging your pet to create the best learning environment possible. The best part? We keep it simple and straightforward, so that most importantly you can bring it home and stay successful.
Our boarding process ensures dogs are equally stimulated through exercise, challenging mental stimulation, and socialization (if appropriate). For our extended stays, we also believe in logging all your companions activity while under our care, so you have a detailed and organized outline on their day to day life so you don't miss a thing!
